Many Australian homes were roofed using asbestos
sheeting during the 50's, 60's & 70's .
Now, as concerns regarding the health risks associated with
asbestos fibres increase, more and more homeowners are having
their asbestos roof sheeting removed and replaced with either
Bluescope Lysaght Colorbond or Zincalume sheeting.
The process is very similar to re-roofing an old tin roofed
home except that the tradesmen are required to wear protective
clothing during the handling phase and the asbestos sheets,
once removed, are wrapped in black plastic, taped and disposed
of at specially selected asbestos disposal sites.
